You’ll notice how it just hangs there while the rockets are firing for a few seconds, then starts it’s assent, very, very slowly…and it still has to get all the way to space.

And did I mention that that big orange tank is full of fuel and that’s it’s only purpose.  It needs all of that effort to escape the Earth’s atmosphere, but once it’s out into space, a small nudge nudge can carry it all the way to Mars.
